Our History… Established in April 2002, the Freed-Hardeman University Amateur Radio Club began with an organizational meeting in Gano Dining Hall on campus among several interested hams in and around the Henderson/Chester County area. In order for the club to get on its feet and become established, temporary officers were appointed to serve as the club’s new leadership. They were: President – Tom Childers (WA5ZVZ); Vice President Kevin Roeder (KU4RT); Secretary – Joe Loucka (AG4QC); Treasurer – Ron Means (W5DAT). A club
Constitution and By-Laws were
written and adopted by club members
in June of 2002. Officer elections
were held that September to
establish a legally elected
leadership for the club. All
existing officers were “officially”
elected to hold their current
positions. Later in the year, the club applied for and was issued the club call of W4FHU. A short period of time later, the club applied for and became an ARRL Affiliated Club. Today, club
members can enjoy attending regular
monthly meetings and taking
advantage of a variety of special
events and projects the club plans
or sponsors. For a complete listing
of our current club officers and
activities, to include our monthly
meeting dates and locations,
