September Minutes (being typed late from memory)
The W4FHU Ham Club met on September 20 and had a very interesting meeting. We held discussions of the upcoming first Special Event station to be held in conjunction with the Chester County BBQ festival. Volunteers were lined up to man the radios and it was agreed to meet and eat at Jack’s Restaurant for breakfast before starting the event. We had several hams volunteered so help was not going to be a problem. Mike and Richard had already prepared antennas and shelter cover for the event.
After the discussion, Joe showed us an electronics lab kit he had purchased at the local Radio Shack. Several hams included myself was very interested in the possibilities the kit demonstrates in helping us better understand the workings of electronics.
Those in attendance: Joe and Sue Loucka, Mike and Louise Burkhead, Mickey Burkhead, Richard and Martha England, John Adams, Dan Crump, James Webb and his wife, Thad Williams and Jimmy Helvering. (If I missed anybody forgive me I am two months behind.)
