Club President Joe Loucka called "eating meeting" to
order. In attendance: Joe and Sue Loucka, Jimmy
Helvering, Mike Hurst, Thad & Ms. Williams, Richard &
Martha England, John & Ms. Adams, Kevin, Hollie, and
"little" Gary Roeder, "big" Gary Roeder (!), Mike &
Louise Burkhead, Gary Lipford, Rachel Martin, Allen
Miller, Todd Cooper & friend, and Richard Hiesmann.
Dinner began after Mr. John Adams asked blessing upon
the food. And the food was good! Thanks to all who
took the time and effort to prepare the great meal!
Everyone enjoyed it. President Joe mentioned the
success of the PSK 31 kits that he prepared for several
of the members. Several units are "on the air", and
performing great! The Swapfest is October 3, and "just
around the corner", so to speak. A door prize will be
given away every hour, and a grand prize (a 2 meter
transceiver) will be given away at the end of the
Swapfest. You do not have to be present to win the
grand prize. Mike (K4TC) will be working the sign-in
desk and operating the 2 meter radio on the 147.105
repeater for talk-in guidance, etc. There will be a VE
test session at 11:00 AM, for those wishing to take a
ham exam. For those "tail-gaters", there will be
parking for you just across the street from the
Henderson Church of Christ (just across Second Street,
at Hill and Second). The Henderson Church of Christ is
located at the corner of White Avenue and Second
Street. The Swapfest will be held at the Activities
Center, at the rear (but in the same building) as the
Church. Tables inside will rent for $5.00 each. Club
members, no charge for tables. Mr. John Adams will open
the building up at about 6:30 AM. "Workers" (!) need to
be there at 7:00 AM. Hollie Roeder will coordinate with
James Webb and put Swapfest announcement in Chester
County Independent. John will advertise 'Fest on TN
Phone Net. A big welcome to those of Kevin's radio
class! Several of tonight's visitors are studying for
their amateur radio licenses. Next Club meeting will be
on October 15, starting at 6:00 PM, and the NWS will be
presenting the Advanced Weather Spotter's Course.
Everyone is welcome to attend. Kevin, KU4RT,
recommended that we buy a new 147.105 repeater
replacement. Richard made motion, seconded by Mike B.,
motion carried. Will study and investigate the repeater
purchase more after the Swapfest. Meeting adjourned.
