Meeting Minutes
August 19, 2013
The meeting was called to
order at 7:02 by President Dick Heismann.
We passed on the reading of
the minutes of the last meeting, then a Treasurer’s
Report was given.
We are still hoping that a
meteorologist from Nashville will give a
presentation at the October meeting, but since no
progress has been made in that direction, Dick is
looking into an online program and will ask Mike
Burkhead if he would be interested in presenting it.
We are still looking for
something for our September meeting on the 16th.
We discussed possible programs for future meetings.
Building something and having someone come in and
give a talk on EME were a couple of suggestions.
We talked about ways of
generating interest in the club and bringing new
members. We will be looking into the possibility of
setting up an informational table at the EMA trailer
during the Barbeque Festival in late September. We
decided to go ahead and set up a Facebook page to
get some information about the club out there.
We talked briefly about
ARES and Dick said he was looking into having
another meeting soon.
There will be VE testing at
7:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 5th at
the Henderson Fire Station for anyone who wants to
get or upgrade their license.
For Show and Tell, Dick
brought his new dual band HT. It was small,
lightweight, with many features and reasonably
priced.
The meeting was adjourned
at 7:55 pm.
