FHU ARC Meeting Minutes
August 17, 2006
President Joe Loucka called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM, in the
Courtroom of Henderson City Hall. Also in attendance were: Sue Loucka,
Thad Williams, Jimmy Helvering, Mark Woods, Mike Burkhead, Louise Burkhead,
Joe Newton, Loran Newton, Richard England, Martha England, John Adams, Caleb
Thomas, Kevin Roeder, Barry Smith, Dexel Burns, Kacy Burns, and Mickey
Burkhead. Three other hams, who were in a Homeland Security training class
next door, dropped by for a few minutes. They were Rick Bonds, James
Taylor, Jr., and Bill Baldy.
The "damaged beam antenna" went to Mark Woods. The method of dispensing
with it was determined in last month's meeting, i.e., via a drawing and one
dollar fee.
Kevin Roeder made a motion to reserve the new pavilion (Civitan Club) at the
Henderson City Park (Gene Record Park), for Field Day, 2007. I think
everyone was in agreement, but the pavilion is not finished, and we do not
know what the policy on the reservations will be. I am sure the motion will
be taken up again as soon as we find out the particulars!
President Loucka and John Adams advised if anyone we know of wants to take
an amateur radio exam, the VE Group is ready to administer them.
The program for the evening was presented by Kevin Roeder: "Tower Safety,
Parts 1, 2, and 3". This was a very interesting presentation, and made us
hams that are firmly planted on terra firma, very appreciative of those that
assemble, erect, maintain, and climb these towers. Thanks for sharing your
expertise and experience with us, Kevin.
Meeting adjourned.
Mike Burkhead, Sec.
