The meeting was called to
order at 7:00 by President Richard Heismann.
The minutes were read and a
Treasurer’s Report was given.
A motion was made and
seconded to accept the revised club by-laws and constitution. A vote was
taken and the motion passed.
Since we had formally
accepted the By-laws and Constitution Sue Loucka made a motion to elect
officers and begin collecting dues. The motion was seconded and passed
by vote. It was also decided that we would keep the current officers for
the next year.
We decided not to
participate in Field Day as a club but members were made aware that if
they would like to observe Field Day operations the Jackson club would
be operating at the EOC at the airport in Jackson.
Joe gave an interesting
presentation on diodes. He explained about the different kinds of
diodes, how they worked and why and where to use them. He passed out
several examples of different diodes and showed us how to measure them
and showed us on an oscilloscope the effect they have on sine waves.
Dick Heismann did a quick
show and tell with his nifty little gadget, a component tester.
Our next meeting will be on
June 16th with a presentation on capacitors.
The meeting was adjourned
at 8:18 pm.
