FHUARC Meeting
Minutes
May 19, 2005

Informal part of the meeting commenced at 6:30 PM, in the meeting room of
Henderson City Hall. Refreshments provided by Ron, W5DAT, were enjoyed by
all.

Formal meeting called to order by Vice President Ron Means, W5DAT. In
attendance were: Ron, W5DAT; Kevin, KU4RT (briefly); Bill, KG4WMW; Joe,
AG4QC; John, K4QQ; Richard, W4KRU; Martha, KA4AHS; Mike, K4TC; Louise,
AG4BD; Mickey, KI4DTQ; Dexel, KI4HZV; Barry, KI4DJX; visitiors Ralph Maynard
(potential ham), Adam Harris (potential ham, to be taking test soon). John
Rickard, KJ4CA, (now of Colorado Springs, CO), was in for a visit, and it
was very good to see Mr. John!!

June 3---Relay for Life---operators needed for station manning. Ron will be
there with WFHC-FM remote, but needs ops for a simple ham station at that
tent. Several club members volunteered, will finalize list as the date
approaches.
June 11---Swap Fest---the "Burkhead Bunch" (!) will man the registration
desk, and also set up a 2 meter station for talk-ins, and will help man that
station. Richard will attend to the concession procurement. Honor system
for concession purchases. Need club members to assist with table set-up,
etc., at the Sports Arena on June 10, at around 3:00 PM.
June 25-26---Field Day---Club voted to do Field Day at Chickasaw State Park
this year. Further details at next meeting (June 16).

Joe, AG4QC, introduced a great project idea for the Club, to build some
small regenerative receivers for certain ham band/s, and possibly a QRP
xmitter to match. Kits are available, and would be a great idea, especially
for Club members, etc., who have not had the opportunity to dabble in ham
radio construction very much. Joe will have more info for the Club soon.

Club election was held: Barry Smith, KI4DJX, Treasurer; motion by Ron,
W5DAT, seconded by John, K4QQ, vote unanimous. Richard, W4KRU, Secretary;
motion by Louise, AG4BD, seconded by Barry, KI4DJX, vote unanimous. Bill,
KG4WMW, Vice President; motion by Richard, W4KRU, seconded by Dexel, KI4HZV,
vote unanimous. Kevin, KU4RT, President; motion by Barry, KI4DJX, seconded
by Ron, W5DAT, vote unanimous.

New officer's terms start June 1, 2005. Club dues are now due and payable.

The June meeting (June 16) will be an "eating meeting", the exact location
to be determined, probably at Richard & Martha's home QTH, or Barry's home
QTH. Further info forthcoming.
