FUN WAS HAD BY ALL!   That is the best way to describe the annual May get together for the W4FHU ARC elections and end of the year celebration.  Thanks to Mr. Richard and Mrs. Martha for their wonderful hospitality. Those in attendance were in no particular order:  Joe and Sue Loucka, John and Janet Adams, Barry and Jean Smith, Dan and Brenda Crump, Kevin, Holly, and little Gary Roeder, Jimmy Helvering, Loran Newton, Joe Newton, Mr. and Mrs. Richard England Jr, Micah England and Katie England, Mr. and Mrs. Gary Roeder, Mr. and Mrs. Thad Williams, Mr. and Mrs. James Webb, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Eaton, Bill Baldy, Mickey Burkhead, Mike and Louise Burkhead, and special guest John and Betty Rickard and Mrs. Betty’s sister.  If I missed anyone is was not intentional.
The meal was outstanding and was followed by homemade ice cream, YUMYUM! While the meal was being prepared, we tested the antenna that was built at the April meeting for the upcoming Fox hunt and found that the driven element was trimmed to short and needed replacing before the Saturday hunt.
It was voted to leave the annual dues which are now payable at $20 per member with each additional member in the same household to be $10. Please remember to pay up at the June meeting.
Joe reminded everyone of the upcoming tailgate swapmeet on June 2, 2007 at Chester County High School parking lot next to Jack’s Restaurant immediately after breakfast. It was also mentioned that due to the responses of interested parties in the Hamfest that we will pursue the idea of restoring this in 2008.  This will be discussed at the June or July meeting and will need everyone’s input to make it a success. Everyone agreed that Ron Means did an excellent job in 2006 coordinating the event and we would like to bring this back in 2008. This year’s field day activities will be held at Gene Record Park at the Civitan Pavilion.  There will likely be two shifts with some showing up for breakfast to claim the park and scout the area for antenna hanging and the second shift once the official field day activities commence at 1:00.  So come early, stay long.
The officers were unanimously elected for 2007 and are as follows:  Joe Loucka, President; Kevin Roeder, Vice-president; Barry Smith, Treasurer; and Louise Burkhead, Secretary.
The next club meeting will be June 21, 2007 at Henderson City Hall.
