Meeting Minutes
January 20, 2014

President Dick Heismann called the meeting to order at 7:03 p.m. We were joined by guests from the West TN Amateur Radio Society in Jackson.

Sue Loucka read the December minutes and the Treasurer’s Report, both of which were approved as read.

In Old Business, Barry Smith said to hold off and let things at FHU settle down before trying to talk to the person who is now in charge of the repeater. Joe Loucka was able to get a key for the new lock at the Youth Camp so he has access to the repeater.

We’re still waiting for an answer from the Fire Chief in regards to putting up an antenna.

We’d talked last month about making directional antennas at the February meeting in preparation of the upcoming Fox Hunt. There was definite interest so we’ll be building them at the February meeting.

There was discussion about having a prize for the Fox Hunt.

Jimmy Floyd, Operations Manager of the Jackson-Madison County EMA gave aninteresting presentation on the Winlink 2000 Email Systerm, an emergency communications system using the email over the radio.

 A motion to adjourn was made at 8:40 p.m.
