Ron Means presided:
The minutes of the meeting 11-17-05 were read and approved. (The December meeting was an eatin’ meeting and Christmas party at Arnold’s restaurant and there were no minutes kept)
The treasurer was not present so we did not have a treasurer’s report.
Business:
1. There will be a testing session Saturday, the 21st,  at 9:00 AM here at City Hall. (Up to date report on the session: City Hall was locked so test moved to GC on FHU campus. Both Tom Rogers and Jonathan Newton passed their Tech License exam. CONGRATULATIONS!)

2. Repeater report – Lightning strike took out the fuse in the power supply and the repeater operated on back up power for a few hours without anyone knowing it. Joe Loucka went to site and replaced the fuse. There was some discussion regarding a line protector to avoid this happening in the future.

3. New ARES info sheets were filled out by those present. as required. Those who were not present need to get in touch with Ron Means and fill one out.

4. The club has received a bus from the Chester County School System. Ron Means said we need to get some members to obtain a Commercial Drivers License in order to drive the bus. Contact Ron for a study book. (Up to date report: On Saturday, the 21st, Joe Newton’s son was kind enough to cut the bolts that held the seats. It is now ready to begin further work toward readiness for emergency operations.)

5. There will be a ham get-together at the FHU Lectureship again this year. It will be on Wednesday, February 8, at 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM in the Gardner Center where it has been in years past. Everyone is invited to BRING THEIR OWN LUNCH and enjoy the fellowship.

6. We need a net control for the ARES net for the next three months in that Ron will be gone most of the time. MIKE BURKHEAD volunteered for February. Any who are willing to call this net in March or April, contact Ron Means.

7. We will ask Barry to provide an updated membership list which would indicate those who have paid their dues to date and can be used as a reminder to those who may have forgotten.

8. The SOUTHWEST TENNESSEE HAM FEST (that’s ours) will be held on Friday, June 2, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, and on Saturday, June 3, from 8:30 AM to 2:00 PM. This has been registered with the ARRL and will appear in the QST calendar.

9. Joe Loucka presented a fine program on fundamental trouble shooting. Everyone enjoyed it.

10. Future presentation will be basic studies of resistors, capacitors, inductors, resonance, and antenna tower safety.

11. Field Day is to be on June 24. Kevin Roeder will be asked to get a check from Barry Smith in order to reserve the same pavilion we used last year.

12. A report was given regarding the prospective schedule of Dan Crump’s return to American soil and eventually back home. We all look forward to his return.

After a fine and enjoyable meeting, we adjourned at 8:40 PM.
