Chester County Amateur Radio Club
Meeting Minutes
July 15, 2013
The meeting was called to order at 7:14 by President
Dick Heismann who then gave a brief introduction on
the meaning and purpose of amateur radio. The
minutes of the last meeting were read and the
Treasurer’s Report was given. Everyone was reminded
that membership was due to be renewed.
Old Business:
Joe gave an update on Echolink. He
said that the Echolink equipment has been installed
at the transmitter but not activated because the FHU
radio station needs to be taken down so the proper
levels can be set. There are also some grounding and
antenna problems with the repeater that need to be
resolved before he can continue. Kevin Roeder said
he would get some information about a new antenna to
Johny Farris.
The revised Club By-Laws and Constitution were read,
and approved by the members.
New Business:
Sue Loucka said that she didn’t
think the quarterly meetings were working because it
was too long between meetings. She suggested that we
go back to monthly meetings. Don Taylor moved that
we return to monthly meetings and was seconded by
Joe Loucka.
The Huntsville Hamfest will be on August 17th
and 18th. Dick is going to send out an
email to find out if anyone wants to carpool to
Huntsville.
Don Taylor did a quick presentation on the avalable
J-Poles kits that are a quick, easy antenna
especially useful for inclusion in go-kits.
Election of officers was held. All the sitting
officers retained their posts: Dick Heismann,
President; Don Taylor, Vice-President; Sue Loucka,
Secretary-Treasurer.
Our next meeting will be August 19th.
The program for the August meeting will be a Show
and Tell. Everyone is asked to bring something to
share with the club.
In October, Johny Farris is going to have a
meteorologist from Nashville come to give a
presentation.
Johny Farris moved to adjourn the meeting. Don
Taylor seconded the motion. The meeting was
adjourned at 8:12 pm.
